i rather have a ding from another car door, than g-d forbid have that beast ding my door!
that's why when there's spots where a median would be on one side of my door, i'd park there and make sure i'm so freaken close to that median, that my tires almost touch it... gives me more distance from the car next to me
that gives me and them plenty of door space!

But then of course the knucklehead that parks next to you STILL parks too close... just like when you park your car far away in boonyland and somehow, some POS manages to park next to you when there are plenty of other spaces away from your car.

DouglaS2000 - that drives me nuts. One time I came out of Home Depot, and there was a shit van parked next to me (way out pretty close to the end of the vacant lot), and the guy was sitting in his truck, window rolled down... so I go up to his window, and I'm like, what the hell is your deal? There are a million other spaces here and you just HAD to park next to my nice car? He just kinda looked at me weird, so I got in my car and left.
