I tried to see if a 12 point socket would work but I encountered an obstacle. Apparently, the 12 point socket is an exact fit. The problem is, there is not enough clearance between the outside of the bolt/fastener and the hole it goes through. Unless of course you found a socket with extremely thin walls?

I think the bare aluminum is kind of cool. That's certainly an option. And, if one of the wheel centers were to get marked up for any reason, it'd be pretty easy (well, easier than with paint) to get it back looking right.

You may put yourself at risk of co-starring in the same movie as me though - how to maintain bare metal wheels and not lose your sanity.

Craftsman or Snap-on will have the ones you'd need

There's no way I'd leave them like this. Too much upkeep for me. And they look really good up close, but from any distance they just look dull and slightly dirty.

I'm not going to leave them raw, I just placed one in to see what it looked like. They're definitely getting painted. Hell, one should be ready for me to pick up from paint today or tomorrow.

After seeing your updates, I have to admit that it looks kinda neat in bare aluminum.
