Looks like an average lapping day, and from personal experience I would say the Porsche was at fault.

First no matter how badass your car may be, or how good of a driver you are, on a regular lapping day you cannot overtake a car like the porsche did going into that corner. You at least need a point by if you did that.

If he had waited to pass on that long straight where they made contact, none o this would have happened.

However the s2000 driver didn't really do much to aviod being hit, looks like he saw the porsche and just kept going straight but who knows.

You can clearly see the Porsche's fender was almost perpendicular to the s2000....meaning, he lost control. It was the Porsche's fault.

So in situations like this, who is responsible for repairs? And I'm assuming their insurance won't be covering this damage?
At the track, the usual case is the gentleman's agreement. You don't hear much about lawsuits involving the track. Insurance won't cover the damage if you say it's at the track (unless you have a specialized insurance specific for track-cars and racecars). Would be a hairy issue about who's at fault: the driver in the Porsche, the driver in the S2000, the instructor in the Porsche, the instructor in the S2000, the owner of the racetrack, the organization sponsoring the event?

If the atmosphere became much more litigious at the track for incidents like this, I would expect attendance to drop significantly and I would probably avoid HPDEs myself

anyway, that "crunch" noise

any of you read the comments? one guy says "that's what you get when you put hondas on the track"...dick
Italians speak Italian, not Spanish.

And actually, thats what you get when you have old tools who think they know how to drive god's chariot that Porsche is on a race track.

Porsche was in driving directly across the track after dropping two tires off and jerking his car back on the track. The porsche was out of control and at fault. The S2000 did not look to be intentionally passing the Porsche, rather he was attempting to stay clear of a car that was off and out of control. The Porsche driver was at fault.

I hear people say that a car after a collision is no longer the same (at the limits I assume)

For an accident like that, do you think this is the case?

I dont think anyone could say for sure without seeing what damage was actually done. I would just like to know if insurance covers this or is the driver just screwed or what.
