Permanent Hardtop after getting my top slashed.
So about a month and a half ago my top was slashed and my seats were stolen. Never thought it would happen to me but low and behold it definitely did. On my first S, I had a hardtop, loved it, but hated the constant rattles/creaks. But after getting jacked, I decided I'd go back to it with my new S. Luckily I came across the Izzy custom hardtop race hardware. It requires you to remove all of your soft top components, but it's an amazing product. After 3 days of being installed I still have not heard 1 rattle . You do have to trim the headliner and rear hardtop panels though, which I haven't gotten to yet...been driving too much ...Can you blame me? haven't had my car is a month and a half .
Here's the Izzy hardware, I got it powdercoated for free through my work. When I bolted the bolts down some of the powdercoat came off though.
I highly suggest this hardware if you're willing to remove everything softtop related from your S .
Also, this was my second hardtop...here's how the first one arrived.
This was the reason for the extent of time I was without my car. Pretty much the longest month and a half ever lol. But it all worked out in the end.
Here's how it looks now, You can definitely feel a difference without all the softtop components in there, but it also may feel more drastic to me since I hadn't driven it in a while. Now that I don't have rattles and what not with a hardtop, I'm loving this car about 10x more with the hardtop. I know it needs to be lowered, next on the list is coilovers and a front lip.
