1) The unit itself is the Terk Commander
2) It comes with full fm modulator, but I direct wired it using a PIE auxillary input interface through the cd changer port on the head unit.
3) The stock radio uses and external receiver mounted in the trunk - the headunit is your tuner - this is what honda claim as being xm ready. it has the CAPABILITY to "control" xm should you buy the xm kit.

I also had to install a GLI as I was getting all kinds of interference from the 12 volt system. Installed it inline with the auxillary interface rca plugs - took all of 2 minutes and $25 and now I have crystal clear sound.

The antenna is mounted inside the plastic cowling next to the sun visor on the drivers side - totally out of sight - much better than putting on the trunk.

Hi S2000GT,

Would you happen to have a picture of exactly where you're talking about here? I realize the XM antenna isn't visible but I'm having a hard time visualizing where you're talking about. Are you using the Honda factory XM system? I'm having a hard time seeing that the antenna that comes with that fitting under the plastic anywhere near the sun visors?

Thanks!

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

I'll get you a picture later....

but basically I removed all the A-pillar cowling as you would if you were hardwiring a radar detector....as well as the sun visor and the plastic on the inside of the windshield frame.

The antenna is magnetic and sits nicely right next to the catcher for the softtop. Once all the plastic panels are replaced you cannot even see it.

I will show you what I mean later with a pic.
