Wow, so your rim is now a 11.5" +88.

I just don't undertand how adding 2" to the rim makes the overall size 12", when it started as a 9.5"...

Weldcraft??

Yeah Weldcraft.

The 9.5 is actually 10" wide total from each end, which is what you have to account for when measuring your wheel opening, or you will rub on the inner shock tower/flange. I have 2-3mm clearance there.

Well after months of waiting for the right used set, I have purchased my 17x9+45 and 17x 9.5 + 38 Brand new instead. I have a very good connection at Discount Tire company and will have them next week, at a VERY good price!

Thanstar , sorry you didnt want to ship your wheels. Can you shed some light on how much nickel plating costs?

Someone did this to their OEM wheel on another forum I'm on. I think it was $200 a wheel.

I used weldcraft about 2 years ago to widen some oem g35 rims. 200 sounds correct as well.

Yes $200 per wheel not including the $150 or so for shipping round trip.

Running -3 camber in the rear, which is about perfect for max cornering grip. Ride is beautiful. Grips like an R comp for the street without the drawbacks. Any other wheel size/offset and it wouldn’t have worked. Weld craft sticks to going in 1/2" increments so I just got lucky it all worked out with very little to no rubbing. I cut the fenders and relocated the rear bumper tab, same as if you were going with a 255/40. I did as much research and measuring as possible but it was really a gamble, So happy it worked out. This tire brand is the only one I have found that comes in this odd size of 295/35/17. So if they discontinue it I’m screwed.

I've always wondered why there aren't more 285-295/35/17 sized tires hanging around.
