thats right abour cutting the fender... you do have to re-weld a seam on the fender in order to keep them from splitting and also from cutting anything that touches it.. its gonna be a tough battle to keep it all lookin good but i think im up for the challenge lol....
In your case its ok since you are going to have over fender, if you don't cut the fender then your over fender is useless. Its not much of a challenge is just the work you have to through to get it done.

but the poster I qouted suggested cutting the fender instead of rolling the fender, IMO is not a good idea.

There is nothing wrong with having them rolled if the person knows what they are doing. Not anyone can pick up a fender roller and expect it to come out perfect. and for the one that said the s2k paint is soft I would imagine that to make things a bit easier to work with and would be less likely to cause paint chipping.
to properly roll a fender. They use a heat gun to soften the paint to prevent the paint from chipping.

You can still roll it yourself and have great results if you have the right tools. I think the heat gun is probably the most necessary. I rolled my fenders on my wrx myself and it came out great. The first one had one little spot that the paint cracked on but it was on the inside and a little touchup paint will cover it right up. I think the biggest mistake people do the first time around is trying to rush the job. If you go slow and take your time you'll be very please.

considering this is the rpf1 thread and not the rolling fenders thread that'll be the last thing I say.
I do plan on getting the 17x9s all around with 255s though so hopefully in the near future I can contribute something else worthwhile.

Alright guys, I'm about to order mine. I'm gonna go with 17x7.5 F, 17x9 R, with 215/45 F, 245/40 R dunlop star specs. I'm also going to order up the eibach prokits at the same time, 1" drop. Jeff at the rack said with this combo I will have no rubbing issues and no rolling will be needed. I just want to confirm this with the community. I plan to Auto-x, I dont want this to be a cruising wheel that I have to worry about messing up a fender.
I have the exact wheel/tire combo you have as well as Eibach Pro's. I rub a little in the back on dips and rough roads, but the front is just fine. I'll be rolling this spring (and dropping another inch or so) so I won't have to worry about anything. Hope that helps. Pic:

Here's a couple from this last weekend, I finally got around to adding my center caps. Hope you guys like.

I've been getting PM's all day about my specs. I'll just repost them so everyone can see. My setup is what seems to be the standard setup for RPF1's.

17x8 in Front +45
17x9 in Rear +45

215/45-17 Kumho SPT's for the Front
245/40-17 Kumho SPT's for the Rear
Both are OEM AP2 spec sizes

I bought them from the group buy that Gruppe-S had this last summer. Now these wheels can be purchased from the link below.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=658223

Yes I relocated my rear tabs, no I didnt touch my front fenders. I'm dropped with 1 finger gap all around.

Hope this helps some people. Thanks for the positive comments.
