Kraftworks kit I think is compatible. KW kit compressor is at the bottom of the motor, so shouldn't have any clearance issues.

As stated above the new valve cover is to help release crank pressure build up. Allowing more volume in the head cover lowers pressure.

What are or what do you connect to the 2 extra L/R holes at the start (from where the original VC ends) of the extension?
