My trip to Laguna Seca
So my sister wanted to go look at colleges up in Northern California, and it just so happened that some motorcycle races were going to take place at Laguna Seca!
So the trip was planned and we drove up along the west coast, from San Diego, up along the beautiful California Highway 1. I have to come back here in my Miata! This is a beautiful road. Very historic.
Here is a picture of the view from atop the highway. Its like this for about 80 miles.
We stopped at an overpriced restaurant off of the highway, 7 bucks for a little bowl of soup. At least the view was real nice.
Here's an interesting hobo we met in town... supposedly he does this every day.
Heres a picture of practice, Valentino Rossi flying through the corkscrew. Awesome. This is a fantastic place to watch the race from.
Here is Colin Edwards, (USA) Rossi's team mate. Yamaha was wearing yellow colors today for some anniversary or something. I forgot exactly why.
More practicing on top of the craziest turn in the world!
Racing Ducati! Man, this was a beautiful thing to behold. WOW.
Yeah, you like that. <3
Side view of this V4 240some horsepower monster. Theres me on the left drooling at that azz.
Here they come! Start of the race.
First, Nicky Hayden, Second, Valentino Rossi, Third, Colin Edwards.
My friend saying hello. SMELL SO DELICIOUS. Later on someone else was doing a burnout on top of the corkscrew, and one of the flag men went behind the burning tire and began fanning the smoke into his lungs. Hehe.
Race Summary:
Awesome! I really loved going to see the MotoGP after seeing it so much on television. The sound of these bikes is amazing.
The race was almost uneventful though. I was rooting for Valentino Rossi. Valentino is not from the U.S. and definitely has a lot less experience with this track, unlike Americans Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards.
I think instead of really trying hard, Rossi did a decent job, finishing in 3rd, being passed by his team mate Colin Edwards, who finished 2nd. Nicky Hayden had a huge lead the whole race. I think the American riders had to put on a show for their home crowd, and Rossi wanted to avoid a possible DNF or injury in order to maintain his 79 point lead, so he enjoyed the race from 3rd place.
The trip was awesome. I loved it. Nothing like motorcycle racing!

I'm assuming that's your sister in the pic with the hobo? If she's from Cali, I'm sure I've never met her, but she looks really familiar for some reason. Maybe she just has one of 'those' faces.
Too bad she's too young... she's cute!
