My hood idea
#1
Here is a photochop I did of what my car may look like. This is CJB80's car photoshopped red (photo owned by bulletproof automotive). I just bought a Bulletproof front lip and I'm going to mold it into my front bumper like Chris' is. I'm also thinking about making a custom intake that would incorporate a NACA duct in the hood just like the 04 Dodge Viper's hood.
This is my first photochop ever, so be nice. I only photoshopped in the NACA duct, the color was done for me by someone else.

Even in the case of a viper... why would you want your car to look like a dodge ?!?
answer to question below...
when i see that scoop coming.. i think dodge, i think viper.
but hey, its my personal opinion.
opinions are like butts, everyones got one.. doesnt mean you gotta like it
it flows decently well with your front lip.. but an overall i would just opt against it

I didn't know that the NACA duct was invented by Dodge. I thought it was invented by the National Advisory Commitee for Aeronautics. I guess you learn something new everyday.
On a non-sarcastic note, how does one simple duct make the S2000 look like a Dodge?

Ben,
Assuming your nature from your other threads that are more technically directed, I'm assuming that you are doing this for functionality.
Am I correct?
If so, why have the duct so far forward?
Is the goal for the duct to have an inlet to the tb or is it just a duct to draw in air into the engine bay?

Ok, here is a rough sketch of what the intake may look like. I've outlined the box and the tube in red so you can see them better. The filter would either be a cone filter, ot a panel filter inside the box.
The NACA duct would be connected to the hood. There would be a rubber gasket on the rear edge of the opening. The front of the box would be open with a rubber gasket on the front edge of it. The two rubber gaskets would seal the two together when the hood is closed.
(I'm not sure who's car it is, I hope they don't mind me using it)

That placement looks like it mimics the placement of the MG CAI. The only difference on that, would be the inlet goes to the bottom of the car while yours would go forward.
Would an intake like your concept cause variance in how air moves over the hood of the car as the throttle body opens and closes? Is that of concern?
