I know my camera's picture quality sucks, but here they are anyway. And note that the car wasn't clean at all. It had just rained so the mufflers should be a lot shinier.

How much, where'd you get the system, and did you have someone install it or do it yourself? I'm really considering this, but I'm not a gearhead... Do you notice any significant power increase? How's the exhaust note? Sorry for all the Q's, but looks great and now you've got me thinkin'....

I got the exhaust from www.advanceimports.com. It was $898.00 plus about $50 for shipping. You don't have to pay sales tax unless you live in CA.

No, I don't notice any power increase really. The rpm's do feel a little different because the exhaust note is very different, but it certainly doen't lessen 0-60 or 1/4 mile times much, if any.

I took it to a local muffler shop and they put it on for $65. It took the guy like 15 minutes to take the old one out and attach the new one but he still charged me for an hour of labor.

The sound and look are the biggest differences. It certainly looks meaner from the back. The sound is a little overbearing at low rpm's. It carries a lot of bass to it. Once you get over 3,000 it sounds pretty much like stock, maybe a little throatier. Sometimes I'm in the mood for the low rpm bass note but it can also be annoying if I just want some peace and quiet. I guess I'll drive my other car for that.

Thanks; I thought these tubes were supposed to give more low RPM power (could be woefully mistaken). Does look awesome.

Do you feel you could have put it on yourself? That seems e-a-s-y.

Yeah, I probably could have installed it myself if I had a lift and an air wrench. I hear the factory bolts can be super hard to get off because the metal has expanded and contracted so much due to the exhaust heat.

One other thing. If you were to do it you'd need to remove the cross member that sits below the stock exhaust. Since the stock is only one peice it won't slide out without removing that cross member. I may have wanted to keep my old exhaust, however I don't really have anywhere to store it. I went to kind of a junky muffler shop and all the guy did was took a blow torch to it and heat clipped the main pipe into two peices so that he could get it off without removing the cross member. If you can somehow clip that pipe then you would be able to remove the old one without removing the cross member. I didn't expect the technician to clip it because that basically ruined the stock exhaust, but I guess he might have thought I was getting rid of a bad one and replacing it with a new one so ruining it only made since to conserve time since he thought I'd be throwing it away anyway.

As far as getting the new one on, that ought to be a snap. eight bolts and four seals. No big deal. But getting the old one off will probably take you some time. For only $65 more, I'd just buck up and have a muffler shop do it for you. That way you've also got somebody to blame if something goes wrong. Just kidding.

If you really want a noticeable power increase, then you'll need to go with a single outlet exhaust like Amuse, Spoon, or J's Racing. I think some dyno runs with those exhausts have shown 10-15 hp gains. It seems even the best duals can only create an added 3-5 hp at the most and some of them even lose hp's from what I've heard. I was going for the look more than the performance so I got the dual. I may eventually get the J's Racing one after a year or so for some added power, but right now I like the dual look.
