it was straight for the most part...the turn wasn't sharp enough to have that much of a distance advantage/disadvantage.

not sure what's up with the m3, but the e46 M3 is markedly faster than the s2000 in a straight line.

it's like sayng a comptech sc s2000 is in the same straightline ballpark as a stock one which simply is not true. a comptech sc s2000 is about the same as the stock e46 m3.

you're basing that solely on numbers...there's more to straight line racing than numbers.

i've owned both - i speak from experience - the e46 m3 is clearly faster than the s2000 in a straightline and is faster around a road course too. my s2000 was comptech SCed as well.

now that i look at the vid again, it looks like the angle is bad for showing how far the e46 m3 might've really been.

comptech SC S2k and M3 are very different on a road course. The M3 is much more stable than an SC'ed s2k on the turns so i wouldn't think that's a good comparison. As far as straightline, have you ever seen your cars perform against each other? As i stated before, alot of people go off feel....300ft-lbs of torque can make a car feel like it's faster because of the "pushed back in your seat" factor. Like i said, no doubt the M3 is faster...however i dont' believe it's as fast as people are claiming.

The race was from 0-80...so that might have played a factor too...the M3 would have pulled away if we had gone any faster...I also had a better launch

yeah m3s are definitely faster.....but not to a degree that most people assume. torque makes the car feel much faster than it actually is. my friends ride in my car talking shit about how slow it is, only to be beaten by me later every single time with this big floating question mark on top of their heads.
