Little Headlight Restoration DIY Project :)
So as the car is getting in the paint booth, I got the headlights with me so I could restore them back to what they are supposed to look like.
Here is how they started, not very bad. A bit chipped and little haziness to it.
Here it is, wetsanded with 800 Grit
1200 Grit
2000 Grit, you can see that as the grits go higher, the headlight gets a more uniform fade to it and the become more and more transparent.
Sanding done, now onto the buffing part.
Conditioning the new pad I got, which didn't impress me at all
Here is what was used.
Meguiars 105 with new meguiars Maroon Cutting pad which sucked
Poorboys Medium strength polish with white medium strength pad
Menzerna P85rd with Grey Finishing pad,
Menzerna Finshing glaze with red application pad.
Menzerna PowerLock with red application pad.
Here is the final outcome. Way better than what they used to look like.
No more rock chips, and those last 3 steps of finishing and polishing them really freshened the lenses up.
And here is a pic before I put everything away
That would be it for today, until I find something else that I can make better on my cars. lol Gracias
