Cause even with my stupid ride height and my -6.75 rear negative camber i bet i could clock better lap times than 3/4 of the people who have negative comments on my car, dont get me wrong im no professional driver but i know how to drive that thing to his limit, this is no garage queen or hard parker car !!
You can't be serious.

your wheels could have been improperly balanced or perhaps didn't fit the hubs as well as oem

The wheels were properly balanced, you'd notice that at higher speeds on the freeway if they weren't. They also had the required hub centric rings. Really, there was nothing wrong with those wheels. I bought them from a board member here on s2ki. They were installed on his S2000.
Really, the wheels are fine. It's simple physics that the car will eventually not behave as smooth as before if you install bigger wheels and tyres.
It's not like the car was undriveable, maybe i came accross a little wrong in this regard. But compared to the stock setup, it isn't as smooth anymore. The transition from grip to sliding your rears a bit is not as smooth anymore, the car reacts more to uneven roads and little potholes, etc.
It was just a little difference, but noticeable. When going back to stock wheels, the car feels more smooth and agile, it has been like this with any car i've owned and installed bigger wheels, then went back to stock wheels... it's really simple physics...
