I believe you are looking for vision hood dampers...I think they are bit more pricey than the tein.

There's also the Top Secret Hood Dampers. Those are like 3 times the price of the Teins.

Once you get to 10" or so from closed, the dampers aren't strong enough to make any difference. With a stock hood you could drop it from there. With the CF hood, I set it down, then latch it by hand.

ruexp67, those are the dampers that I was looking for I don't mind getting the teins but I like the vision. Where did you get them? I know you had posted those pics before and someone had put a couple of webpages that carried them do you recall the sites? Thanks for all the info guys!

I saw the hood lifters on TopSecret's home page 14 days ago, 3 days ago I have installed them on my car...looks great nice colour and once you lift the hood by hand to like 40%, the lifters will hold it there. If you want to close, you just move it down and since I have a CF hood, I just press it down like usually. The stock lifters on my 2004 Accord work better though since the can REALLY lift the hood, so they are real hood lifters not hood suporters .
I got them for 400USD shipped in my hands in 1 week

I have the teins, and painted them.

Was happy with them for all of about 2 weeks, until I screwed up, and dropped a wrench on one of them, chipping off the paint in a spot.

So... On to plan B - Going to strip off all of the paint, fire up the buffer, and hopefully - voila! Instant polished Vision Dampers...
