Car only hit on drivers side door.

I called the cops when I found out it happened and filed a report.

I called the cops when I found that white Le Sabre with the black paint on it and the cops that came that time called me an idiot for calling them so late saying there is no way that was the car that hit me.

Pretty much screwed it seems.

If the police are no help and the marks match your car, maybe it's time for an accident to happen to that person's car... if you get my drift.

Or before an accident happens to that car, try confronting the owner and see if it can be solved amicably (although appreciate that they wont be jumping up and down to admit to it)

Ive had the same thing happen to me. Just see if you can find the guy who did it. Time to call the insurance company to get that thing fixed!
