Mount:
I painter's taped the corners of the trunk and where the feet of the tripod would be, then attached the ropes (taping them in place) then set the tripod on its spot and tied the ropes one by one. Ended up going back around and tightening them before I drove off.
Questions, comments, observations?

nicely done, I've been thinking about a way to do this also, but I'm afraid to use the skinny tripod I have. I have a homemade camera mount but its like the one sold on ricks accessories page. I like this view you made. Good job

looks like it would cause some violent wind movement going around corners, but hey whatever you want to do with your $500+ electronic equipment. I would opt for an incab unit like the one that mounts to the center console hidden compartment. Just my .02

Man.. the video made me dizzy.
Try taping a bit of foam or cotton wool over the microphone for the wind noise. I'm digging the stealth look. I think it would be hardly noticeable on a Silverstone.
