i went to the USGP and they had both of these cars there... neither of which are realeased in the US yet... i have had a deposit on the SLK350 for a little over a month now, mine is suppose to arrive late Dec early Jan. my father after seeing the SLK55 at the race and watching it on the track called when we got back and put a deposit down on one. his should be arriving about 6-7 months after mine is what he was told. the 350 was in the lobby of my hotel since almost everyone from Mercedes McLaren was staying at the hotel in including all the sponsors and so forth.....

 

 

 

Wow if that AMG is anything like the US production model I will be amazed.

 

This car is no joke. although my dad put his deposit down the dealer said they did not have the exact specs of the car yet. but while at Indy we had dinner with a high ranking Mercedes Benz employee who said the car will have upwards of 500+hp and well above 500lbs tq. all the cf pieces you see will be on the road going car. including the front air ducts for the brakes. the cf spliter's on each side of the upper grill. the door panels and dash were also cf which will be in the road car. along with the AMG racing seats minus the harnesses. this car without a doubt will be a beast on the road. hence the reason for the heat exchanger on the front for the SC and the oil cooler in the rear!!!!!!! by the way the whole underside of the car is covered in cf and the rear has a cf diffusor to help create downforce making the need for a wing minimal. thats why it has a very small spliter on the trunk.

while the SLK 350 is not so the beast as its AMG big brother its still a nice performer tipping the scales at just a hair over 3000lbs and having 270+hp and 260+lbs tq this car is going to move. not only that its pulls .92g in the skid pad at 72mph which is more then a stock S.....

 

the 350 i sat in and posted is a US road going version. I was told by the Mercedes guy on hand the AMG version is no different then the version coming to the US. other then the a/c in the AMG was in C and the dash was in KPH.....

 

I heard the SLK55AMG up in Montreal for the F1 races and it sounded and looked good. Oh yeah it moved too.
