18" Or 19" Wheels And Tires?
OK, This is my first post, so please don't flame yet! I am looking for anybody that has pictures of their S2K with 18" or 19" rims on it! Lowered? That would be even better. I know that 18" or 19" rims may not be the best for performance, but I am going to have to face the fact, my wife will be driving this thing about 95% of the time, so I want the big rim look. Any help would be appreciated. I would especially appreciate anyone with Enkei Phalynx rims to post, no matter what size they are. Thanks for the help

19" is gonna give you a lot of headache due to the rubbing prob...go with 18", your wife is driving it 95% of the time? what a lucky woman, i would never let a girl touch my ryde because i had bad experience from the past.

Better have some smooth roads where you live if you go the 19" route. One pothole on a cheap cast 19 and your wheel is toast.
Go that big at your own risk...

19" is insane for this car (+3 sizing with very little room to play with - without lowering, it'll also look ridiculous). Even 18" is asking for trouble, especially if (like many) your wife is an inattentive driver. Driving a low car with big wheels without remembering it CONSTANTLY is akin to saying "Here, break my wheel(s) for me". I would suggest 17" wheels as they are much more more moderate (you'd be surprised how much an extra 1/2" of rubber on each side of the wheel will help keep damage from occurring) and looks nearly as good. Easier to keep the performance of the car, too (bigger wheels = slower acceleration, in general). 18" are expensive wheels and tires, too, when they get into such tall diameter and ultra-low profile sizes.

Get the eighteens. I personally like the stiffer ride, and have never bent a rim! I've always been careful about potholes but you would have to with 17's as well

ccarnel - what wheels are those? They look a bit like some Konig wheels I've seen before, but I know a lot of wheel manufacturers make that style (or something very similar).

Holy insult batman.... Ya, those are some Konig wheels... they cost about $800 for the set. I originally thought they were American Racing or Crager's..
They are Kinesis (i think) and cost $4-5k+.....
