Seriously? You are over simplifying how the color is being laid down and by with what. You took art for 4 years, then you should understand how it was art, unless you took it from like 4 to 8 years old.

On a side note Honda has had some commercials as cool as this in the past so I wouldn't say I wish Honda made cool commercials.
most people doesn't have a clear vision and acceptance of different medium for art.

most people think fine art(thing that looks beautiful or something like that) is the only art and fail to see the vision of the 21st century artist.

remember the period when taking a photo was not something that to be consider to host in a proper gallery? what about digital media art? intangible performance?

Look at it as you want to. Find all the deep meanings of what you want it to mean... let it be as deep as you think it is.

It's cool how they made this
I said it was cool how they laid the colors down and how they used the car to put the paint down. I too saw this on HDthr.

I just don't see this as art. If I was given the same chance as this guy, I could honestly do the same thing. Anyone could. I took art for 4 years in high school. I pride myself on being able to do realistic pen and inks, shadings, paintings and whatever else. I can even scan a few things if you want me to.

If you want me to, I can draw you something with MS paint that would look as good as that stuff. I'll even put in more colors if you want...

Yeah - I agree. You don't need to be "an artist" to do this. This guy was paid to make squiggles and paint a "vision" of a complete mess of lines.

Oh -- and he "Strategically" threw paint cans around to complete his "expression of joy"

His other work is cool: http://www.perryrubenstein.com/artists/robin-rhode/

But not this. Good marketing for Z4 though... love the car.
