I tell you, when I widened my wheels 2" out back and added 295's, the car felt much more planted, what a nice feeling for an otherwise nervous handling car.

def make sure they are balanced and installed correctly. if they are, then check your sway bar, check the axles, check the suspension. did you get an alignment after? make sure the alignment is in check.
sounds dangerous whatever is wrong!

ive found that on high hp s2000's you need to be running stock suspension to keep the car stable at high speeds, i would get loose at the 1000ft mark at the track everytime no matter what tire setup i ran, including slicks. Once the stock suspension was put back on the car had zero issues.

Once you have achieved a proper alignment, check for wheel movement by trying to move the rims back and forth while they are free hanging. This could be an issue with bushings and joints. When they wear, they will cause wander and loose tracking. It could also be the alignment. If you find there is excessive movement in the wheels, see where it is coming from and replace that bushing/joint/arm etc.
Tires and after market suspension could be the cause but are less likely than an alignment or worn suspension component.
