I used small washers on the brace that runs laterally; it would have touched the diff had I not used them:

Your diff sit pretty close to your gas tank?

Mines pretty snug. Not touching but close

Very close to the tank. I had to cut the upper tab off of the diff case as well as dent the gas tank (to ensure I had adequate clearance). fwiw, I'm running an 8.8 from an early 90's Tbird SuperCoupe.
