Im looking at using a wideband on the standard ECU, so must have a normalised output to the ECU.

Reason being is that im using a Vortech with the FMU and want to accurately check its behaviour.

Ive heard some of the modulated outputs from these bits of kit can be inaccurate.

Anyone use one?

I'm in the same kind of situation as you. I have a stock Vortech kit and just wanted to keep tabs on the A/F accurately. I went with the AEM UEGO gauge. You will, however, need to install an additional bung in the header to fit the AEM supplied O2 sensor. I just happened to have a Toda header that comes with the extra bung.

Here's my thread in my local forum on it:

That looks smart.

Ive been looking at the PLX M500 as this has AFR bu can also monitor knock and a host of other things. Can you download from the AEM?

On another note, I presume you cant rob the secondary O2 sensor hole?? CEL?

I am looking into the zeitronix.
http://www.zeitronix.com/

If i read correct, the complete kit has Boost, A/F, EGT, + other and an aux input (0-5V) which probably can be used with other senders outputting a 0-5V.

If you have a laptop/PDA you can log values for analysis.

I asked this same question awhile back and spent some time looking into it.What I was looking for was a standalone system that I could tune with, and one that would interface with AEM EMS when the time came. I wanted it to be fast and acurate. I also wanted an in-car gauge as well as PC logging.

I went with the FJO Racing product for a number of reasons. There was little tech info I could find on the AEM, but I was leaning that way because I liked the way it looked. But when it was all said and done, the FJO product was the clear choice.
  1. Has an RPM pick up (wire) standard (Log Only)
  2. Has to additional user selected sensor it can log (Log only)
  3. 200 A/F reading per second
  4. Under the hood installation for the most part with hi quality connectors. You make a min of two connections (power and ground).
  5. It will interface with AEM well (HorsePowerFreaks.com sell it and AEM EMS as a kit)
  6. It will output a Narrow band to the Stock ECU (So you can replace the first sensor.)
  7. Really easy to use loggin sofware.

Note: I did not find the Zeitronix product until, after I had mine installed.
