who has S/C high boost 3" pulley without slip
#11
There's a thread on this forum somewhere about some guys who cut grooves laterally across the pulley. Maybe an inch apart and perhaps 0.5mm deep. The grooves increase grip of the belt. I'm sure some of you guys have heard of it? Comments?

Ive done it, but .5mm isn't much. I'm sure I dug down close to the full depth of the groves at about 2mm. Id think you want the full depth of the belt to ride down in the grooves or your not going to get full benefit.

And this brings up the question to which I've never gotten a satisfactory reply....why don't SC manufacturers used cogged belts?
And to S2000Junky and AP1Chief...who/where did you get the pulley grooves cut at?

U can run into issues with cogs, and slipping belt is better than trashed cog belts and backfire causing blower to screw its self. Sometimes belt slip is a good thing.
