8 bars is fine

9th bar shouldnt come on until you hit 225.

what tuning solution are you running?

aem series 2.

i just ask because with the ac on, and outside temps being as high as they are, every now and then the 9th bar will come on for a sec, then go away and be right back to 8 bars.

my tuner said my dyno temps were 198-205.

i am getting the upgraded rad and fan regardless.

this summer is just puttin a beating on everything it seems. my damn house a/c unit hates its life during the day but acts like its no big deal at night. lol

i wonder if there is still a damn air bubble hidden in my cooling system somewhere................

im gonna jack the front end sky high and leave the cap off and see if any air wants to come out and play.

yeah, you shouldnt see 225. thats HOT. my car in this crazy hot summer, with AC on in traffic sees 200., which too me is high from what i remember in years past.

225 is retarded. i think theres a bubble personaly. bleeed that shit son!

The design and placement of your intercooler will have a big influence on the cooling capabilities of your radiator, especially with the AC on. When i changed to a large intercooler, the low speed cooling efficiency of my radiator decreased substantially, especially in stop and go traffic with the a/c on. Before you decide on a larger radiator, you may want to check out your intercooler and how it interacts with the rest of the system before you spend money on a bandaid.

i was reading on modifry's site that in some aem cases, when other electrical loads are created frm AC, headlights, convertible, etc, it will alter the voltage going to the ECT enough to make the bars read alittle off. which might explain why when i turn my ac on, and im just cruising, ill go up to 9 bars or even 10, then back down after i turn the AC off. my tuner said my aem showed my max temp during the hard flogging on the dyno around 205-ish. so i def think the ECT is getting a skewed reading and i dont think my temps are wandering around 225-235 degrees then back down to 190.... lol

if you do that, run the car, disconnect the radiator fans and run the car until the bottom radiator line gets hot. That is when the thermostat opens and allows the system to fully burp itself. Turn the car off, let it cool, then open the radiator cap and see if there is air present, if so, fill til it gets to the top of the radiator.

Yeah if your hitting 225 something is seriously wrong. At a MAX I've seen 208 and that was after turning the car off on a hot day and turning it back on almost immediatly (fill the tank). Fans turned on as soon as the engine started, and they came back down to 195 and continued their normal cycle of 195 - 205 fans on, down to 195, rinse and repeat.

The way I got air out of the system is to turn the heat on full blast, drive around till the engine is hot, park it. Once the engine is ambient, open the rad cap and fill it up. Keep doing this until the radiator remains full.

and i highly doubt that turning the ac on while crusing will cause the temps to go 25-30 degrees higher(according the gauge cluster bars not aem) than when the car was at 14lbs at 8500 rpm and 95' ambient temp in the shop..... and my temps never got over 205-ish at the highest point.
