S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

At what point do you need a FMIC?

Default At what point do you need a FMIC?

I'm looking for a 2nd hand Comptech SC.

There's one for sale without the AC as he's using a frount mount intercooler.

At what stage of tune is a FMIC better than a standard CT after cooler? Would it be overkill on a standard setup?

Thanks,

Nick.

I guess is better to have a FMIC than not to have one...What type of FMIc?
Depending on the type it could loose some more or less psi

Wasn't too sure on make TBH.

Is there any 'off the shelf' kits rather than custom?

You will lose a lot of boost with the front mount - if you're not running high boost (10+) it's probably a better idea to not use it and just run the charger straight into the throttle body.

just use the aftercooler, much more efficent and does the same thing.

Intercooler on a SC is just for looks.

^^

A front mount radiator is for looks, but a front mount intercooler will lower intake temps, but may loose some boost.

Then please explain why all the high powered SC s2ks do not have FMICs....

Its not as efficent as an aftercooler.

Preference? I do agree, I like the aftercooler more though.

You said it does nothing... that is not true. I didn't say which was more efficent, but the UR intercooler has been show to have lower intake temps than an aftercooler.

Well of course it does SOMETHING, a 3k ASM intake does something. Thats not the point I'm getting at.

All things considered (price, efficency, power), the aftercooler is still the winner.

The FMIC might lower intake temps more but at the expense of that horrible U-joint and a lower boost pressure. In other words, your still making less power then an AC setup despite having lower intake temps.
