dam that car is quick but how long would it last i thought anything over 500hp is pushing it? videos like these make you go all out but when it ****s up the engine i dont have deep enough pockets to mess around like that. maybe in the future

I'm going there. Sometimes I think people are still misinformed about what and why the head gasket is a consideration, its not a consideration for keeping the gasket from blowing, its a detonation consideration. If your not detonating in your tune then you don’t need to lower compression, hence don’t need a thicker head gasket. OEM head gaskets are plenty reliable so best to keep them in place if you can. Its all in the tune ie: fuel used, timing, boost level etc. After all else is considered and your at such a high level to wear you simply have to lower compression to keep from detonating then it may be a consideration, but at that point your engine performance level may be high enough to where a simple headgasket may not be the best choice to lower compression over pistons.

I think the real question to ask is, how long will this last on 18-20PSI on a stock gasket...
sure you can make the power.. but for how long? what are your driving habits? I for one granny my car...and barely push the envelope at all...
so if i'm tuned on 18-psi... can i get away with it? maybe...but its all becuase i dont push the envelope..

I'm staying out of the 3mm thread, please stay out of ours. Asking questions will lead to another 'this vs that' bitchfest.
that debate will never end.
I've thought both doing the HG and NOT doing the HG. If i dont have to, why would I?
and i'm not in here to whatsoever. I really am more against breaking the motor for the HG simply because i'm hearing more and more HG's blowing with the 3mm ones...
so far i dont know ANYone with a stock hg blowing... but then again i'm not searching either...

370whp/244ftlbs TQ @ 9psi with Ultimate racing kit.
Is it the general assumption that kits with equal length manifolds are more efficient at making hp with the stock headgasket? What other factors allow you to make more hp with the stock HG? Larger intercoolers? A more free flowing exhaust ie 3inch?
Obviously the tuner/tune is plays a large role but what about other factors assuming everyone is running 93octane?

haha
i'm thinking of going to MASE or someone that is willing to push my setup..
i have a GODSPEED setup witch is very close to the ultimate racing one...
I wonder if Evan's is willing to do so as well. Last time i talked with him, he didnt seem like he wanted to go past 12psi..
