the same thing heppend to me a month ago but in second gear.
i bought a new second gear and main shaft.
this is the old parts next to the new...

i dont go WOT in first and second gear any more.
Thats probably what mine did. I talked to a guy from down here that drag races high HP N/A civics pulling 1.4 60 ft times and he said to shot peen the gears and shaft and it will probably hold a lot longer. He said they do it to the stock Honda rods and can easily triple their holding capacity and they also do their trannies and they hold up a lot better to the abuse.

What do you guys think of me doing this?

How much was the rebuild cost for you?

i bought the parts for 600$ and also the work itself.
but for me its different because i cant find a used transmission anywhere in my country , but you can find one in a second .
i think you should get a used transmission with low miles and thats it.
keep this one on the side.
but i also really like what Fernando posted it looks very good , lets wait and see what's the price and how strong it is.

Thanks man. Thats not a bad price though for the rebuild.

Maybe I can represent Kings Performance and be a test guinea pig on this gear set.

Same thing happen to me as well but 2nd gear gave way. I was gonna pick up a low mileage used trans but I know it won't hold what I'm atempting to throw at it. I'm also talking ben from puddymod diff to see if he has anything for our trans as well.

+1

It's a waste of time and money. I did it back in the day when there wasn't aftermarket options, and it bought a little bit more time, but it still ended up being the same thing.....BROKEN!!!
