Vortech Lean (very lean)
Hey guys, my vortech finally got dyno packed and ran about 271 at the wheel horse power with only stock setup and no other mods to my car. It ran high 16's almost 17 under boost for the A/F ratio and they said that is extremely lean. I called vortech and asked me my fuel pressure at diff levels and i have no clue bc i dont have a gauge, my question is should i get a FPR which i see alot do to get it more gas, or should i get bigger injectors, if so what size does anyone recommend?! Please help with any info u can, thanks for the help. James

James,
You can always go bigger as that leaves you room to up boost at a later time. I know on CT, we had to turn it clockwise or what not. And it never came out and good as it is now, but I wanted the quick fix before the big money. But injectors and EMS will be the long term idea. I didn't do mine that way when getting boost, but it would have been far easier, and safer.
Good luck in your decision.

What you could do is open up the top half of your FMU and insert a thicker washer in there between the spring to increase the fuel going into the engine as a temporary quick fix.
If you do a search about vortech running lean you'll find that many have done this as a temporary fix.

That's the thrifty way. I did that until I got bigger injectors and AEM FPR.
