Is This a VORTECH or COMPTECH kit?

It's actually pretty good to help eliminate belt slippage.

I see... my goal is to hit over 400whp....would you say go 1220 oil fed or trade it in for 1200 and go from there?

I used to run a 1220SL. The internals are different in comparison with an oil-fed unit. Just call Paxton and tell them you want to exchange your blower for a 1200.

You need a 1200, pretty much no question. A 1220 is not necessarily inferior...it is actually more efficient than the 1200 in lower boost ranges. A 1220 could very well get you there, but a 1200 will do it with lower boost. I don't think 400whp is within the capabilities of a SL, though...it'll spin too fast.

I actually don't know the exterior differences between the 1200 and 1220...I heard its just the impeller, but I don't know for sure. The SL is different enough that you really do need to trade it.

Yep thats my plan but no one can give me a price of how much more im goin to have to spend. Im spending 20,000 on the car plus need to trade in the blower... installed and tuned. Im on a pretty fixed income as well so just tryin to get my numbers together.

How much should it cost to have just the blower remover/ or installed????

Swapping the blower is actually not even difficult...but there's not many people I would trust to do the work.

IMHO, if you're going to have to pay someone every time you wrench the car, you should not be buying a FI S2K. This is not something for someone with a fixed income...you really should have an "oh sh1t" fund that's enough to buy something big.

Yep this is very true but after buying 2 RSX-S and spending thousands to modd them both iv decided I want a carb legal s2000... and sc s2k seem to be pretty reliable so im not too worried about it. I could say this about everything i buy but i like nice things and iv saved up for it so this is what I am buying. And i would do it myself but and im sure its not hard but id like someone with more experience to work on the car!

Know any shops in the So Cali area that are good with our cars????? Im goin to need a tuner too! How much for a good tune?
