VERY Loud Valvetrain Noise After 3MM HG
Well I finally fired up my car and I have a terribly loud valve train noise I cannot figure out. The only thing that I have done to potentialy cause the load ticking is a 3mm gasket and I had a 2.3mm before.
Here are all the things I checked already
1.) The Valve Lash is set correctly
2.) The Exhaust and Intake Cams are in the correct position
3.) The TCT was working perfect before and I put in a blasted worm gear
4.) The timing marks line up perfectly at TDC
5.) The chain sprocket was clocked correctly per Inline's instructions
6.) I primed the engine before I fired the car and there is plenty of oil
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I second the lost motion pins. One of yours may have fallen out and you didnt notice it. It may be laying in the head under a cam or something.
Also, tighten your valve lash to the tightest setting. I think the intake is .008" and the exhaust is .010" or the other way around, I cant remember.

Well I figured it out.
Teh bolt that holds the timing chain sproket in did not seat all the way. I torqued it to spec but that was not enough. There was about 1/8" left before the large washer on the outside seated all the way. I tried torqing it again past the factory spec and then POW, it popped and let me run it all the way in.
Thank you for responding, your comments are always appreciated.

LOL The washer must have dropped down and wouldnt let the bolt slide all the way through the hole for it to seat. Glad you got it figured out. I forgot all about this possibly being the problem.

I finished my 3mm hg the other night and torqued the idler gear to spec, which is what I am assuming your talking about, it did not feel at all tight enough to me so I gave it another turn. My washer was not sitting flush either. Glad you figured it out tho, its so stressful to me when stuff like that happens lol.
Oh, and then one of the rubber bands holding the rocker assembly together snapped out of my hand b/c it was covered in oil and droped into his timing chaing cover. I think we was about to kill me at that point.
