Default Velocity stack on my turbo go woo woo

Inspired by Joeyballs, I decided to pick one of these up from passwordjdm

First impression =

I love the sound of a turbo spooling and let me tell you, this thing brings it out. Sounds like my turbo got 5x bigger lol. For comparison sakes, take a journey back in time with me. Remember when your S was stock N/A and the first time you took the lid off the intake and took a drive how different it sounded? Now imagine that difference here and replace the N/A bark with a mini jet taking off and you get the idea. Hell, even my BOV sounds different now. AFAIK it shouldn't, but it definitely sounds meaner than it did before.

Is anyone running one of these with a filter? My k&n fits inside relatively snug and I tried driving around with it just shoved in there, but it fell out on the first drive.

Anyone got any ideas on how to secure it in there? I don't like the idea of driving the car around without a filter.

There's no point in a velocity stack if you're going to stick a filter in it.

Actually there is bugger all point in a velocity stack. So you get one extra hp for the risk of screwing up your turbo and engine. You can get the same gain by dialing up the psi.

time to put some chicken wire around that for protection and don't drive down any dirt roads

I also thought that Joey said the gain was negligible?

Butt dyno agrees but the aural gain is well worth the purchase

While that maybe true, I don't want to risk long term damage to the turbo if I don't have to. There has to be an easy way to hold it in place so I can easily remove it whenever I feel it necessary to squeeze a little more out of it.

Just some bungy straps crossed over and hooked on to the lip of the velocity stack should do it.

Joey the video does the sound no justice. The first time I went into boost I thought someone had stuck another turbo under the hood when I wasn't looking.

Exactly what I was thinking but I'm worried about them failing under the heat. Think they'll be ok?
