Do you guys think the Aem Ems could also be a reason the coil packs go bad? Maybe it's not able to handle the demand needed to properly drive the ignition.

Side note, I had my aem ems fixed by aem because of no ignition spark. They said the ignition drive unit was bad. It worked fine when I last drove the car but didn't work a year later when I tried to run the car for the first time.
sorry to go OT but did u get ur car done?

Not yet. THe Aem held me up from getting it tuned. I should get the unit back some time this week. Then I can get it tuned in about 2 weeks if all goes well. I am so anxious to get this car up and running finally.

It all depends on the horsepower that you are looking to make.

I made 710whp @ 29psi with NO PROBLEMS on the Stock ignition system!

Just my .2 cents

I would be interested. Is this sort of like the LS1/2 coil mod? I wouldn't mind going away from OEM honda, as long as I could have reliable ignition at higher boost..

Yep, on the RSX coils and so did several others but the key is drivability and reliability on a budget. The RSX coils are $82 shiped new or $328 for the set. My proposed system is half the cost. I have the pigtails and coils now for (2) cars and I have spent only $200.

(4) Coils---------------$20-$30
(1) Set of pigtails-----$20-$30
(1) Set of Wires-------$30-$75
(1) Mounting Bracket-$10-$15
====================
Total--------------------$140-$240
Keep us posted I am so down for a cheap upgrade/peace of mind.

I dont see anyone talking about spark plug gap. What kind of gaps do you guys run when you make that kind of power? If you dont care to have the car run like stock on partial throttle and around town then you can set the gap super tight .(.015) At that point the car is going to run like crap but it wont misfire in boost. I personally drive the car 20k miles per year so i want it to drive like stock which is why the stock ignition was not an option for me.

Are the RSX coils plug and play and do they do the job?
