i might have missed it but why can't the t518z and a gt28rs be interchangable? the flanges appear the same and when i had my 240sx with a sr20det the t518z bolts right up to the manifold and downpipe with custom oil lines

There's an entire thread about replacing the T518z with a GT30R turbo, I'm assuming a GT28 would fit fine as would a couple others with a T25 flange.

The thread was started by Engineer_X. His fab on all of this is absolutely top notch and he's very helpful

It's not that difficult if all you do is replace the T518z for a GT30 and use all the Greddy stuff.

Regarding the oil relocation kit, there are a couple of things I really didn't like:

The AN fitting threaded side extends a little too much into the filter block oil outlet / inlet ports. I used a dremel to grind down the fitting so that the oil flow doesn't have to bump into this restriction. It may not even cause much of a pressure drop if left alone. But I'm all for minimizing losses anywhere I can.

Also I noticed there's a substantial gap between the oil delivery coming from oil pump into the filter and the oil return going into the oil galley in the block.

The oil is delivered from the oil pump (red arrows) to the filter and then filtered oil is returned (yellow arrows) to the engine. There shouldn't be any "connection" between the 2 paths. Yet, I don't understand why Greddy chose to have 2 holes in the return line at the block adapter. Those holes connect to the delivery circuit through the gap shown in the pic below. Now, it may not cause any pressure drop having that gap there and having the 2 paths connected. I just don't see the need.

I eliminated that by removing the OEM oil/water heat exchanger and fabbing a AN fitting using the OEM fitting that holds the heat exchanger

Hey guys new here,

Great thread and thumbs up for the OP for his efforts~!!

Anyways down to my question,

My greddy seems to be hesitant when boosting. Its asif torque would drop off and then pull again and drop off. Is this normal for the Greddy? or the tune or possible leaks.

This doesn't happen all the time, after a long cruise on the freeway (without hard driving, boosting) the car would pull so smooth when being boosted.

Could the weather (heat) have something to do with this?

Cheers boys

Guys my kit should be arriving any day now!

Am i correct in thinking it doesnt come with a blow off valve ?
If so why not? isnt it needed?

Does it need a boost controller, why? I dont know a lot about turbo kit mechanics as u can tell But what is one and why is it needed ?

thanks in advance
