Default Turbo Ready!

Ok guys so im finally getting closer to installing my custom turbo kit! I have almost everything I need! I will list all the parts I have. My question is what engine management should I use?!! My options are Aem FIC or Aem Ems 1052? I know that the Aem ems is a much better engine management unit but it is much more expensive! im only looking to get around 400-450whp! I plan to purchase a 3mm cometic head gasket as well. Im looking to run around 14-15psi daily and 18-20psi on race gas at the track. If I can get everyone's help and input that would be greatly appreciated! Also if you can please let me know any parts that I still need that I dont have on the list that would be great thanks!

Parts I have up to date

turbo garret t3/60 hybrid .48 a/r
custom tubular manifold 2.5 inch
turbo gasket t3/t4
38mm dump tube
XS 38mm wastegate
4 inch air filter
tapped turbo oil pan
RED Dogg FMIC
Rc injector clips (PNP)
255 walbro fuel pump
2.5 inch intercooler piping
Blitz Bov DD
2.5 inch downpipe
2.5 inch flange exhaust
2.5 inch flange gasket
Rev hard oil relocation kit
Vaccum Lines
Autometer CF boost gauge
3mm headgasket cometic
exhaust gasket (all gaskets for exhaust)
AEM EMS standalone unit
Rc 750cc injectors
Turbosmart MBC

Well you won't need a VAFC with either units so you can take that off your list

I would recommend the AEM EMS as its a more complete unit. With my tune, my car runs better then stock.

I, however, do not have any experience with the AEM FIC so I cant really comment on it.

hey, bigmos2k i'm glad to hear the your thinking about using the aem ems, i think it's the best choice, it might cost your $1500 but it's worth it specially for your power goals. also i think the exhaust housing on the turbo is a little too small i would recomend either 63 a/r or 82 a/r. other than that your on track.

I would also use a 3" exhaust and 3" down pipe, the less restrictive the better.

I plan to stay 2.5 all around right now im looking for quick spool up! I've heard that someone on the board was doing 400whp with this same turbo. I am no longer running vafc 2 but tjturbo ran on it for about a year safely on 750cc injectors I sold it and I'm looking to either run aem fic or aem ems. As for the xs wastegate it is brand new and I haven't heard of any problems just wondering what happened and how? I also purchased a 4lb tial spring just incase. Thanks again for everyones input. Bump!! Bump!

xspower the diaphram inside them doesn't last/tears/the allen screws inside vibrate loose. This was with 2 not just 1 xs power wastegate. Now me and my friend run a 38mm turbosmart and tial wastegate

Well , my customers car was a civic with a gsr swap . All was well when the tuning started . However once at 18 psi i started getting boost creep issues . I kept trying to compensate with the apexi avcr boost controller . Then all of a sudden i got a massive spike and i mean MASSIVE ... 8 + psi . So it went from 18psi to 26 + psi ! Not good !! I caught it in time however it scared the crap out of me ! We took the wastegate apart and found that the diaphram was pinched while being assembled and then tore after some tuning . CRAP I SAY !!!

I have a 2.5 inch downpipe. Most of my kit was used and purchased with the manifold, intercooler piping, and fmic, bov and some other misc. parts. I dont plan to change anything since I already have it. This kit at 5.5psi and dyno'd 315whp on aem ems. The manifold I have was made by cjb80 its a custom tubular manifold where the turbo sits up front and its 2.5 inch piping as well. As for the xs power wastegate Im starting to getting worried about it because of some people's opinion and what's happened!
