Trying to decide on Gear ratio 3.9 or 4.10?
Hey guys I am about to switch over to a Ford 8.8" and am having trouble deciding if I want a 3.9 or 4.10 ring and pinion ratio. Who on here has tried the 3.9 and how much power are you making? Did it improve times? I am afraid that if I go with the 3.9 with my current power level (515whp) It will kill my acceleration...although it would keep me from having to shift to 5th gear. I plan to up the power later on down the road.

Good i think i'll give the 3.9 a try then. Looks like Richmond Gears is one of the only companies that makes it? Any places have a good deal on them?

Personally I would go 4.10. Big reason is so you can get Ford Racing 4.10 gear which is OEM quality. The aftermarket 3.90 gears are noisy. If you have a AP1 and springs/retainers then I would do the same thing I did when I was at that power level. 26" tire and 9500rpm or so. You will cross in 4th.
