Our motors seem to do better without the headgasket. I'm not using a thicker headgasket either. Just use different rods and pistons plus sleeve your block. I'll be running around 35-40psi

a thicker hg is the cheaper way to lower our compression so we can boost more. obviously with higher compressiong (stock) we will put out more power per psi of boost but we cant push it that far. ofcourse, ideally, the better way to lower compression is to get lower comp. pistons but to do that you need to get the whole engine built.

Also i WOULD NOT boost to 14 psi on the stock hg. the only person ive seen do that is mase and hes just an amazing tuner and even then i would be very skeptical.

but neways its been proven many times over and over that you can get a 3mm hg (also use copper spray) and boost to 500+ whp. some people have blown hg's but there is also installer error to account for. also if your paying for the labor to get it done itll take you 4-5 hg's to go through to pay for your built engine. if you do the labor yourself itll only cost you $350 each time.

i believe they say this because you have to run more psi to make the same numbers.. and t1 does some sick stuff.. 700whp s2000 with an untouched motor

yes but but the extra psi make more than the lost power up.

700 whp on stock block with stock hg? thats a sweet accomplishment but i also think that wont be the most reliable setup. what people fail to understand is alot of these speed shops that put out crazy numbers also maintain their cars like race cars and barely put any miles on their cars.

T1Racing Development here in DFW area told me this.
I've never heard/read about anything that thicker head gasket giving negative effect to your cars.
Can anybody chime in and explain please?

I should ask this to them, but how about if I want to run past 14psi wanting more than 450whp? still no headgasket?
T1Racing is correct, adding a 3mm headgasket changes the shape of the combustion camber away from its optimal design. In short it's a poor man's fix.

Have your turbo installed and enjoy your 450whp. When you want more replace the rods and pistons.

FYI - Mase will be doing my turbo. I have a completely stock block and will be looking for 450whp.

You are correct. Most of them don't drive them daily. The T1 S2000 I believe they actually drive it often.
Mine will not be driven daily.

The car you mention is a dyno queen. If you look at the dyno it was a horrible power band. While I'm amazed that they were able to accomplish 700 out of a stock block with no HG it was only done to show that it could be done. T1Racing definitely does some nice work.

It is also the fuel used. With race gas, anything can happen

Definitely!

Don't forget if you want some more power you can always use meth.

Got any E85 stations in Dallas?
