Default Tech2 Pulley Fitment

I got a tech2 7lb pulley and the thing will not fit on the blower rod. I've tried just about everything and still it wont budge. Are they all like this?

I don't want to bash a board sponsor in any shape way or form. However I have heard of this problem before. When I installed the 7psi pulley for my comptech we could not get the pulley to fit on there. The installer told me the last one he installed had this same exact problem - Tech2 7psi pulley wouldnt fit. The original one he said he had to shave down to fit. Mine he didn't have time or tools to do it - so we placed a board across the pulley & slammed it for a good 30+ minutes with an axe.

Had it yanked off a few months back - luckily no damage to the rod.

Try heating the pulley with a heat gun to expand it a little. I had to do this when I removed my stock SC pulley.

I've never heard of a Tech 2 pulley that perfect fitment. I had to rubber hammer mines in.

I recommend a "gear puller" (you can rent at Autozone) if you ever take the Tech 2 pulley off. The 2 minutes that this tool will take to take off the pulley will save you hours in the long run.

I've spent the whole day trying to get this thing on. I have had success in the past hour by using my dremel and a felt bit with polishing stuff. It takes forever!

Ok, this ****ing thing is stuck part way on there. I cannot get it off and I am dinging the hell out of the blower bracket and this ****ing pulley. Why can't these people make a product that works like it should? Maybe if we overpay more we could get that. Tech 2 = TWO THUMBS DOWN!

I recall using WD40 a wood block and hammer to install the pulley..... I'll be honest....it was not something that I considered doing because of all the issues I've already seen and witnessed...

I read your other thread and I hope that you reconsider and take a deep breath....

It's just a car..... sometimes you can get stressed I know....I've been there....

Looks like you just want some "peace of mind" with your purchase and rightfully so. I think if you ask around there are a lot of people who have been in the same situation as you and are willing to help.

Good luck with getting the pulley on.....OR off.....which ever you decide.

Tim
