tct install with sc
Hello All,
I am having the tct noise after replacing it just a few thousand miles ago (ran an oil pressure test and the readings were fine. 26psi at idle and 85-90 psi at 3k when warm per the service manual) Unlike before I know have time to wrench on my own and not have to pay for an install.
the install looks easy and strait forward however I was curious because the snail of the sc is very close to the head and there is very little room to remove the maintenance plug and pull the cotter pin when installing the new tct. Anybody have any way around removing the sc? I can use the angled needle nose but it is tight in there
if this has already been discussed please let me know and give me the link.
thanks

Yep 90 degree pliers is the only way. The biggest issue for me was remov nrg one of the TCT bolts. It was basically touching the comptech mounting bracket so I could not get a socket around it. The are was also too tight to get an open end wrench if I remember correctly.
Sideways, find that write up. I'm sure it would help a lot of people

I got a ballade sports tct today which uses a bolt and butterfly system to release the plunger from the back of the unit. So now I wont need to worry about it. But thanx fellas I appreciate it. I will let u guys know about the ballade as soon as install it. And it prob would help a lot of people if we could find that write up. I looked but couldnt find it either.

Installed the ballade today, sound is finally gone!!
Very easy to install with a sc ( at least a vortech v2) because it uses a butterfly screw to release the plunger from the back instead of having to remove a cotter pin through maitance plug.
thanx for the help everyone!!
