Drop the pan. Easiest of the 2.
I was agreeing with that. I was replying to soul coughing who stated he got his timing chain cover off and back on but he had the head off as well, so of course it was easy for him. With the head on the motor its pretty much impossible, and yes removing the head is ALOT more work than removing the oil pan. The oil pan takes literally a couple minutes to remove.

Idk about a few minutes. There's a shit ton of bolt and u have to unbolt the ac compressor. But yes it's fairly quick. Not a pita at all.
