Abudz, the person who started this thread, wanted to know something about SC and torque.
I took my time and explained him why there wont be any "u betta hold on son" torque increase below 6Krpm from a centrifugal SC.

What did you explain him?

It took me some time till I posted on this forum after I registered. Prior to doing that, I was just reading what people WHO KNOW have to say and kept quiet.

Try the same , it works wonders.

Otherwise you will end up like this:

WOW!!! sorry for all the conflict guys, I posted the original question about SC "seat of the pants" torque gains below 6m rpms, but never intended to create a such a heated debate. I do appreciate your feedback and hope everyone has taken a deep breathe.

Cheers!

I don't think Comptech designed the SC to match the power characteristics so much as to make for an easy to install kit. And that is it's strong point.

In stock form the Comptech kit is a weekend install for a hobbyist mechanic. It only boosts up top and WOT so tuning is pretty simple; in boost shut out the ECU and throw fuel at it (more or less).

It's also true that below boost the SC is robbing power. Not much but it is technically true. If you run a smaller pulley you rob more power but also get into boost earlier. And you also need to address the tuning properly. At this point you realise you may as well have gone turbo.

I'm very glad to be turbo, but I also value the experience of being SC'd for a year and a half.
