Should slow it down. Even NA I feel the s2000 is slower with the shorter gears. Maybe the 4.44's on an AP1 would help out until 350+ whp but after that you want to be in boost longer.

Traction will already be very difficult in first gear, and questionable in second gear. You will amplify that problem if you go to a shorter (higher number) final drive. I would never shorten the gearing on any boosted vehicle, generally speaking.

3.90 all the way. 1st and 2nd is still super quick. better gas mileage, better highway RPM, better top end.
