suggestions for high flow oil pump
Anyone have experiences with a good quality high flow oil pump? I have seen ERL sells one and a few other companies, but want some feedback before I make the purchase.

because at 4k rpms my static pressure is at 60psi which is 20-25 psi lower then helms says it should be. VTEC is disengaging at higher rpms because the oil pressure is dipping to 50ish pounds. warm idle oil pressure is around 12 with 15w40 oil. The motor is fully built and brand new. That should be plenty of reasoning.

also the cam to cam cap clearance is fine and the acl race bearings are well within spec. If you have any other thoughts as to why oil pressure would be that low please inform.

If you have an oil cooler with large lines, that will drop oil pressure quite drastically. If you've checked the oil pump on the motor and everything is within spec you shouldn't need to install a larger pump. A guy running a cateram 7 with a f20 motor needed to change out the oil pump due clearance issues with the oil pan and he found that the motor needed a substantially larger pump than what was usually needed for the motor's size and oil capacity. Personally, i'd disconnect the oil cooler and just see if you hit vtec correctly. It'll save you a lot of time and money.

I don't have an oil cooler. Just a relocation kit with -10 lines that are about 20 inches long each. The oil was to the full mark and is quite thick.
