Ironically enough, if you had the EMS you could look at the logs to find max injector duty cycle in % to see if you need bigger injectors or if you could just get by with raising fuel pressure. Two things you need to know are if you're maintaining a safe A/F ratio (verfiied by wideband O2 sensor) and that you never go above 100% injector duty cycle. These parameters are only available from three sources: sensors on dynamometer at tuner shop, or portable combustion gas analyzer -$$$$$, or through in-car sensors tied to progammable EMS like AEMs. If you have the third option (EMS w/WB O2 option) YOU can answer those questions w/o taking a blind leap of faith, and YOU can tune the car as your trusted buddy drives it. I wish AEM would add the HP, torque, 1/4 mi. timer, acceleration in G's, etc. calculations to the next firmware revision. Just need to buy a few sensors like accelerometers to get those numbers.
Seriously, if you venture out from the design parameters of the pre-designed kit, you are eating into the safety margin designed in. If you are doing it blindly, with only the hearsay of others experience, you are on thin ice. Tread carefully unless you understand how an engine combusts fuel, detonation, etc.
