spinning in 3rd @ sixty
this may be the most nooB question but, i keep reading bout the FI guys spinining their tires in 3rd.
i havent tried but i assume you can do this with a stock S2000 if your in third rev it high enough then drop the clutch right?
but, when you guys say this do you just punch the gas (lets say at 4.5k) and the tires start spinning???
cause damn! ive never seen or been in a car that fast!

Uh... A stock s2k will NOT break traction in 3rd gear.
When people talk about spinning in third, its from mashing the throttle, with the tranny already loaded up...
I spun 3rd occasionally. All I did was engage third gear, and mash the throttle. Traction is lost when boost arrives.

Yea you only need roughly 350 to the wheels to break it and its not always the safest thing to do. Although it is quite a rush when you are wide open on the freeway and can go wide open on the throttle.

i did a burnout in 6th gear at a 132mph. Trust me... Its scary but very exciting at the sametime but just because you have the power doesn't mean your the fastest one around if you can't put that power to good use
Also it lets you learn a lesson about performance... you can only have soo much power but whats important is how much of it actually goes to the ground. There is a thing called too much power and whats the point of a street race if your just gonna spin your tires.... someone who has 300hp will win a race against someone with 600hp. its simple... the one with 300hp wont lose traction and the guy with 600hp will just spin the tires.
