so who got the car? i wasn't actually going to put 10k down haha.. when it reached 4k in the preliminary auction i didnt plan on bidding anymore.

and as far as the car lighting on fire, i honestly and wholeheartedly believe that the new owner fell in love with boost and couldn't keep his foot off the throttle. at cruising speeds there's almost no way it would get hot enough to melt a fusebox...

oh and i got a lovefab tubular too for my next S.. i put battery relocation + fuse box tuck on the top of the priority list
I said the same exact thing, I went into boost 2 times with him on a test drive and DID NOT let him go into boost until the car was his. he was a young kid who was so excited about the car. like anyone would be. like I said I drove it to miami from wpb drove around south beach for a good 2 hours and drove back never had a hicup with the car.

I dont know who got the car. I did want to check it out if someone local did get it

Venting a hood by just cutting it doesn't work at cruising or high speeds.
pretty sure the vented hood worked. I got caught in the rain once. posted up under a over pass. when I poped the hood to see what was wet everything was bone dry.

might be because of the heat too, but yeah if your moving the aerodynamics will not allow the rain to get in, unless its Katrina style

What was the actual cause of the fire after the investigation? Oil leak? Battery explode? What?

Yeah, please do that. Id like to know what caused it since i have the same manifold. Let us know if there was any shielding between the manifold and battery/fuse box area. Was the wireloom that runs around the shock/spring mount and goes to the fusebox covered with and heat shielding?

BATTERY IS IN THE TRUNK FUSE BOX WAS TURNED AND PRESSED AGAINST SIDE OF ENGINE BAY, THERE WAS NO SHEILDING BETWEEN.

THE WIRE LOOM THAT FOLLOWS THE BODY WAS MOVED TO THE FENDER WELL.
