Are there any other reasonable options other than Hondata and AEM EMS to tune the 00-05 non-aftercooled base unit (Say, with 440 cc/m, drop-in replacement injectors.)?
Talking to Chris, Hondata is the 1st best option, followed by AEM (OBD2 non-compliant). You "can" theoretically use AEM FIC (piggyback), but is not suggested because the flexibility of tuning is VERY limited. You run the risk of your car having hiccups you wouldnt experience with a full standalone system. The only suggested way to go is standalone. Expensive? Yes. But in the long run worth your money, especially when you have so much invested in your car only for your engine to blow up.

picked my car up Tuesday (2008 CR) The guys @ SOS did a great job. I'm going to post a detailed review later today when I get more time but all I can say now is that the car is a beast. It made 360whp and made it back from Phoenix to San Antonio with no issues at all.....thats with an average speed of 90mph and multiple runs up to 145mph. The kit makes a HUGE difference --- More later

So how many of us have the kit now? We should make a SOS SC kit "owners" thread to post photos and our experiences with the kit. That way people who are interested can check it out from others who have the kit already.

I'm not sure if we confused you, however, there is currently to pricing information on the SL model until it is tested in house. Paxton is working on a special model specifically for our system.

Cheers,
-- Chris
Woops. Do you know when you will have pricing on the SL model? I want to hold out for this but I also want the $500 discount before the end of February. Also, what will be special about the charger for your kit? I thought the paxton website said that all SL model chargers will bolt up exactly the same way as the non SL models making them interchangeable...

Thoughts?

The ECU is provided with an map that will start and run. However, all other work must be tuned on the dyno.

Cheers,

Thats all I need. As long as the car drives I can get it down to Ballistic to be tuned with whatever engine management I decide on. I'm sold on the system, but like alot of people, I'm interested in finding out how the testing of the self lubricated unit turns out. Thanks for answering my question.

Q1 - is the reflash for 06-08 similar to the hondata reflash for KW kits? i.e. does it change vtec engagment points/ raise rev limiter

Q2 - From watching the video below, it seems like the s/c has a really loud whistle at idle. Is it normally that loud? Whats it sound like from in the car? Basically am I going to hear this inside or outside the car over the volume of my 70mm exhaust/hfc? Is this kit louder or quieter then the vortec and KW kits.
