Soo chris The people with the FMU. Do we need to take it to a dyno and tune/adjust the FMU before we cana ctually start mashing the throttle?
Or is this ready to go as soon as your done with the install?

I went with the SOS kit because of the high amount of boost I could run. I went with the 16 psi pulle yand upgraded heat exchanger. I orginaly had an Ultimate Racing turbo kit and I didnt like it. I was considering the Kraftwerks but I would not have been able to run as much boost. Plus I would have had to have speciall ypulley made to run more than 10psi. The SOS kit seemed like the best choice puls I could get it in black . I also like that there would be less heat issues than with the trubo setup.

Spicyhands, I think Chris answered the question your asking on page four of this thread. I believe the black box and FMU provided with the kit will start and run, but needs to go to a tuner before you can get on it.

I went with the kit because of the price mainly and the expandability of the kit. Plus, these guys know there stuff.

No, Chris stated that the stand alones come with a base map that will get the car started, but shouldn't be driven on until it's tuned by a professional.

The standar '00-'04 kits come with a rising rate fuel pressure regulator as the only possible means of "tuning". What Spicyhands is asking is if the FPR needs to be adjusted on the dyno to set the pressures right, or if it's a real plug & play system that needs no tuning at all.

I'm curious as well as the nearest dyno is about 2 hours from my house (where I'll be doing the install). It might be possible to set the FPR at a certain point and just check it for proper operation and go. I will still put it on the dyno, but like to know that I can safely drive the car to the dyno after the install.

Flite I know what spicyhands was asking. I thought that the reply Chris gave was in relation to the the base kit since that is what I was asking about and it was my post he had in the quotation box, but looking at it now I think your right, and he was probably replying to the post above mine and quoted me by accident. In that case I too am interested in the answer since the tuner I'd use is also two hours away.
