so maybe im blind but ive read through the entire thread and the SoS website, but with the basic aftercooled SC setup (4895$) there is no AEM EMS or KPro that you need?
it just bolts straight up and you can upgrade those later?

Yes. It uses its own "black box" and FMU to control fuel.

so is it safe to make the assumption that there is no "tuning" needed? once you bolt it all on and finish the install its essentially "good to go" and nothing else is needed?

Correct...
Also what does this use to pull timing? It's own "black box" ??

I'm curious about the FMU as well. As we have seen with the greddy kits, not all cars were functioned properly with the basemap provided. By this same logic, how can the FMU be more reliable?

....I'm pretty sure you have to get it tuned so the FMU is set at its best setting. Right??

It is a similar system used by comptech and vortech for the 00-05 cars and is good for about 7psi max and 300whp or so. All these units are bolt and go and do not require tuning...essentially because there is nothing to tune. The parts either work or they do not. You can run a boost guage to make sure your belt does not slip and the a/f guage to make sure the fuel pump and fmu are running well. These are not essential but I would add them for piece of mind anyway.

awesome, thanks for the clarification s2000442
from what ive read so far it seems like this is the most user-friendly SC kit... at least from my perpective as someone brand new to this FI game

From what i remember(i can be wrong but) when i spoke to Chris he said that the FMU is tuneable, which comes with instructions. He aslo said you need to tune this right away when you install the system. It s not meant to be floored untill you tune it

does anyone know if the tensioning system is the same as the vortech?
i haven't seen a vortech's... and i know the comptech uses a slide...
so basically what i'm asking is: is SOS's tensioning system UNIQUE to their kit?
