What's the story with the upgraded heat exchanger? Is it an addition or is it something that replaces the aftercooler?
It looks like a small FMIC that is used to cool the water in the aftercooler. They do use one in the standard kit but it is smaller than the upgraded exchanger. If you live in a hot climate, track the car or want to increase power, I would get the upgraded exchanger.

I am a local guy, I was just wondering how much the service would cost alone. I am trying to budget this and see if I can pay half with cc and half with tax return

What do you mean "service?" Do you mean install? Installation of this kit is suppose to be easier than any other FI kit on the market. Anyone that is half competent at reading instructions and turning a wrench should be able to accomplish this on their own...

I was told that mine was waiting for the aftercooler yet! Then I will have to wait a little longer for the heat exchanger too! I ordered mine like the second week or so of January.

Well I am not too savvy with installing components that will vastly alter the performance of my vehicle, so it would be nice to have the guys who created the supercharger which I am purchasing, also install the said supercharger. And last I checked, Science of Speed sells parts, and they sell their service (which includes: installing parts, maintenance, etc...) So I was simply inquiring how much it would cost, generally in one hour increments, to install the supercharger into my car, and how long it would take, therefore giving me an easy equation (service per hour + how many hours it would take = how much it would cost for SoS's service)

But, if the installation is a easy as you say, I might attempt to do it myself. On a scale of 1 - 10, 1 being installing a typical exhaust, and 10 being doing a rebuilt engine; where would you say installing this supercharger lies?

Chris,

Any pics or specs of the upgraded heat exchanger would be appreciated as well as price. Do you need to remove bumper to install this? How much lower were the IAT when running this vs standard heat exchanger?

You mentioned a plug and play setup for 01-05 vs cutting wires. How much would this be? I really do not want to cut wires going to my ecu.
There are three components of the liquid cooled aftercooler design.

1. the aftercooler (the part between the compressor and engine that cools the air)
2. the heat exchanger (the part mounted in the front of the car that cools water being passing between the aftercooler and heat exchanger)
3. the water pump (circulates the water between the aftercooler and heat exchanger)

For customers looking for in excess of 360 wheel horsepower, we recommend upgrading the heat exchanger. The standard supplied heat exchanger has a core size of 7 x 7 x 1". The upgraded exchanger has a size of approximately 22 x 6 x 2". In addition to the much larger surface area, it's longer shape also improves dwell time of the water in the unit to extract more heat.

Cheers,
-- Chris
